Please check your child's assignment notebook daily.
Set study time daily for your children to get them in the habit of being responsible for their homework.
Science Fair is a large part of the junior high year for 7th and 8th grade students. Ask your child to show you what they are working on.
Read our classroom rules with your child. Discuss them openly.

1) No Swearing or name calling.
2) Follow teacher's directions without arguing or whining.
3) Sit in your seat quietly with hands to yourself.
4) Words and Actions should be appropriate for the classroom.
5) Anything on or behind the teacher's desk is off limits unless given permission.
Rewards may be given for good grades or good behavior at any time.
If a student breaks a rule, they will have their name put on the board. This is their warning. If another rule is broken , they will get a check next to their name. If 3 rules are broken in one day student will get a strike.
Students will remain in their seats until they are dismissed by myself or my aide. Students must be sitting in their seats quietly to be dismissed.
Homework is expected to be turned in on time to all classes. On the first day of every week, a progress report will be stapled in the assignment notebook. On this progress report will be the grade your child is getting in each of his/her classes. At the bottom will be a list of missing assignments. My students have until Friday of that week to finish that assignment. If it is not completed by then it is a zero.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week, I will hold a homework room. Homework room ends at 4:30, but can be changed for your child upon request. During homework room, the students can get help with any assignments that they are having trouble completing. Parents are expected to send a note or call the school to let me know that their child is staying and when you plan to pick your child up. Without a note or call, the student will not be allowed to stay.
