August 2008 The children in this
class started keyboarding again from where they left off last year. They are
slowly getting to know the home row. There are several new students this year.

September 2008
Besides keyboarding on Thursdays, these
special children type words for the month on Tuesdays. These words are special
words for the month like football, school, paper, and pencil. Kid Pix 4 is the
program that they use to type these words several times each. Then they help me
find pictures for each one or a picture is created for the word, if possible.
The students are good detectives finding the correct pictures.
October
2008
These special students are learning to type
using the Home Row.
They are exploring the software program "Kid Pix 4"! Yippeee! During
their Free Play, they seem to love going to the Internet site www.miniclip.com
which has a lot of games on it. Some of them like to play the game "Gutterball"
which is bowling. They have also gotten to really enjoy the Media Player and
listening to their favorite music!
November 2008
The students typed words about Thanksgiving.
They found pictures in Kid Pix 4, saved, and printed their artwork. They
continue to work on their keyboarding skills by using the Type to Learn program.
Keep those fingers on the home row!!
December 2008
Finding pictures for Christmas was pretty easy using Kid Pix 4.
There was Santa, reindeer, candy canes, and many more. Hope that you all enjoyed
the Christmas card they made for you using Publisher03. Again during Free Play,
many children went to the
Internet and found the site where they could visit Santa Claus Land. They really
enjoyed playing the games there. They were VERY
excited!!
