"Music is a science...It demands exact acoustics.
Music is Mathematics...It is rhythmically based on the subdivision of time in space into fractions.
Music is Foreign Language...a highly developed kind of shorthand.
Music is History...reflecting the environment and times of its creation.
Music is Physical Education...It requires fantastic coordination of fingers, hands, arms, lip. cheek, and facial muscles. In addition to extraordinary control of the diaphragm, back, stomach, and chest muscles, which must respond instantly to the sounds the ears hear and the mind interprets.
Music is all of these things..but most of all,
MUSIC IS ART.
That is why we make music..so we will be human and sensitive..so that we will have more love, more compassion, more gentleness, more good...in short, more LIFE."

The music classes will be learning to sing all kinds of songs
The Holiday Program date is Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7:00p.m. in the big gym.
Kindergarten through 6th Grades will be performing in the Holiday Program, along with the Junior High Band and Chorus.

Tips
Remember:
Students will need white dress shirts and black dress pants for the concert.
It is important to try to PRACTICE every day!
Think of practicing as homework.
Junior High Chorus meets on Monday afternoons at study hall time (2:24).

Tuesday, Feb. 24....L-P Choral Festival at 7:00p.m.
The chorus joins with other Junior High Choruses from LaSalle, Peru and Oglesby. This is a nice show-- the L-P Choruses perform as well, and all the choruses sing a combined grand finale.
Admission is free in L-P's West Gym.

The chorus students will be performing at the L-P Choral Festival on Tuesday,Feb. 24 at 7:00p.m. It is free to the public. Students should wear dress clothes.
