OBJECTIVE
The 6th Grade class objective is to cover Ancient world history. we also focus on the importance of geography and the effects of human interaction with their environment. understanding how ancient empires were created and how they have influenced life for later generations.
Roman empire project
the 6th graders are responsible for creating a project on their chosen topic concerning the roman empire. topics have been chosen and deadlines have been set for specific assignments. each student has received a schedule of these due dates. the final project will consist of a 2 1/2 page research paper and an informative posterboard. The students will receive grades in both Social studies and language arts for this project.

objective
the objective of 7th grade social studies is to cover American history from
exploration up to the civil war. we will understand how events in the past
have influenced American
life today.
We will examine individuals who were significant in
our history and events which characterize
us
as
a
nation.
Chapter Tests and homework
Chapter tests will be given approximately every two weeks. Students will usually have homework 4 days a week. the homework is usually pretty easy and should be completed by the next class period.
classroom expectations
students are expected to participate in social studies. This means they should contribute in the class discussions, take notes and be involved in all other classroom activities. Students are expected to be respectful towards the teachers and other students. raising their hands is expected and necessary in order to hold constructive and beneficial class discussions. staying focused in class and completing the homework is necessary if a good grade is desired.
